December 2011 The website has undergone some changes to bring it up to date. The most important change is the public presence of new instructor Chris Nicholls. Chris has taught in numerous classes and courses across the country and is a strong asset to the team. This month we welcomed a small group of visitors to train with us from far and wide. Joining Diego (from Argentina via Norway) in the Blue Spartan Vest are excellent martial arts instructors Mark Hill and Simon Sheridan (in Green Spartan Vests).
October 2011 Our Simulation Day at the Wycombe Judo Centre on October 10 was very successful with visitors from Solihull and Kent. A very useful series of exercises for all martial artists concerned. Videos showing the progress of individual students are available to watch on our YouTube Channel. Our next similar event will now be in February 2012. The day was run and safety supervised by Assistant Instructor Chris Nicholls. Our next similar event will be on 10 September 2011. A new video showing some of our low intensity regular training has been uploaded to Youtube. We have now secured the High Wycombe Judo Centre main gymnasium for occasional Saturday or Sunday Courses! June 2011 Courses in Ipswich have gone well this month. We're enjoying the use of the Judo Centre, but looking for a Saturday venue for monthly scenario days - preferably a venue where others won't be disturbed if we shout! January 2011 Senior Self Defence Classes start 1930 Tuesday 18 January. Junior Self Defence Classes start 1830 Tuesday 25 January. Self defence classes in High Wycombe and Lacey Green in August will be held on the following dates: Tuesday 10 August, Saturday 14 August, Saturday 28 August and Tuesday 31 August January 2010 We're back for a new year with new times and new venues! DART self protection classes are now held on Mondays at the Lacey Green Millennium Hall 1900 - 2100 Wednesdays at the Royal Grammar School High Wycombe (RGS Students only) Saturdays at St John's CE School Lacey Green 1000 - 1200 December 2009 We're moving! DART will cease holding self defence classes at St John's CE School Lacey Green and the Whitecross Hall Monks Risborough at the end of this calendar year (for cancelled classes over the holiday period please see our cancelled classes page). From January 5th 2010 our new self defence classes will be held on Tuesdays at Lacey Green and Loosley Row Millennium Hall. We will continue to run Self Defence Classes in High Wycombe at the Royal Grammar School. Further details will be posted on the Classes and Locations pages as soon as possible. November 2009 DART presented with the Centre of Excellence Award by Black Belt International. Coach John Titchen presented with the Contribution to Publishing Award by Black Belt International for his best-selling book Heian Flow System, his regular articles on Karate, Self Protection and Self Defence in Jissen Magazine and his previous regular column in Traditional Karate Magazine. DART Facebook Fan page launched! Anyone can become a fan. The page includes pictures and videos of some of our more intense forms of training. September 2009 New websites!
